They are worth double what they sell for IMO. Source Limp Gawd. Joined Jan 10, Messages Viperlover said:. Click to expand Eagle 2[H]4U. Joined Jan 21, Messages 2, They are priced very fairly for what they are. Take a look at Silverstone, Antec, Thermaltake, etc. Antec sells cheaply-built cases with lots of plastic and inexpensive steel and prices them just as high as the low-mid end Lian Lis. Same with Thermaltake. SS you probably do get what you pay for, although similar models to Lian Lis are more expensive.

Buy a case for looks as that's what you will be looking at everyday. Whatever cooling you use will probably be more dependant on your own equipment and whatever you put in there. The only substantial difference is if you go for the now dead BTX style cases. Joined Jun 26, Messages 1, Leman Gawd. Joined Jul 15, Messages As said, Lian Li holds reputation for design and quality. Sure its plain I find Lian Li's are what people who build their own computers should really be doing.
We're classy, the nubs aren't. Those are even better. From what I've seen, the inside is polished not brushed aluminium, it has caster wheels with locks, and a nice design.

I bet Stilt could annodize a Lian Li for you without charging you an arm and a leg. Finality Platinum Member. Oct 9, 2, 0 0. Jan 25, 0 0. Hey, I have access to a vertical CNC mill and a nice new powder coat system at work. I should try some of these somewhat costly mods for FREE!
That is what I said up there. Either way it's a waste because it can probably be done cheaper. Anodizing is NO different from using a high quality paint. Other then anodizing will protect from the weather and make the metal stronger.
BUT Who the hell is going to have their case out on the patio all summer or winter?! Or who is going to be in their case bending parts of it around? It's a useless mod when it can be done for WAY cheaper using other like materials. Oct 21, 14, 3 I think it's nice and all that you are promoting your business and want to give people an idea of different alternatives, but don't mislead people into thinking painting is something it's not.
Annodzing is super expensive and takes a big initial investment tank and supplies, etc. Yes, I am just repeating what you said. However to say that painting is anywhere as good or "cool" as annodizing, is just a load of bull if you ask me. I am involved in the sport of paintball and you'd be amazed how customized these things can get. At least enough to rival, if not exceed PC Case modders. Anyways, I have had annodizing, powdercoating, and painting.
By far annodizing gives the most interesting results. When you paint you are adding a pretty thick layer on top of your surface. I am not sure exactly how much i am sure you can tell me but compare it to annodizing. I bet it's a good difference. I think a good middle ground is powdercoating. It's much easier to do compared to annodizing but also does not cost as much. It is more expensive than painting though of course. It makes a good middle ground since you have all the flexibility and creativity options as painting for a cheaper price.
So, IMO, it would be a annodizing b powdercoating c painting in terms of affordability. Annodizing would offer maximum cooling properties then powder and then painting. Maybe the last two are tied.
Just because you can't annodize or don't want to offer it , don't preach about how bad it is and how great your paintjob is.
Syg, I am going to have to disagree with you. I can pick up anodized paint that looks exactly like real anodized aluminum. If you want to spend I am just saying that it's not really worth it when you can get the exact same look for a lot cheaper.
I too used to be into paintball and I know what you are talking about. I am not misleading this people.. It's all about the fans. I never stated that painting was better then anodizing. How many case fans do I need? Do you need a CPU cooler? Should PC radiator fans push or pull? Does a PC need an exhaust fan?
